What is Subject Verb Agreement in Hindi?

किसी वाक्य में subject के number (singular / plural)  तथा person (first person/ second person/ third person) के अनुसार verb का रूप बदलता है।  इसे ही Subject Verb Agreement कहा जाता है। 

The form of the verb changes according to the number (singular / plural) and person (first person / second person / third person) of the subject in a sentence. This is called the Subject Verb Agreement.

इसके लिए कुछ नियमों का पालन करना जरूरी है।

Rule 1 :

  1. वाक्य में singular subject (एकवचन कर्ता - जैसे he / she/ it/ name of any one person or animal or object etc. )  के साथ singular verb (एकवचन क्रिया - जैसे is / does/ has / was / verb+s. ) का प्रयोग किया जाता है तथा plural subject (अनेकवचन कर्ता - we / they / students/ parents / birds etc) के साथ plural verb (अनेकवचन क्रिया -  जैसे are / do / have/ were / basic form of verb) का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Rohan plays football. Girls play football.
Geeta does her homework. Boys do their homework.
The cat is in the room. Cats are in the room.
House is decorated. Houses are decorated.
Priya does her work in time. My cousins do their work in time.
Mahesh does not go home. My Brothers do not go home.
He has new bike. They have new bike.
God has love for all. People have love for their family members.

Rule 2 :

जब करता I अथवा You (both Singular and plural ) हो तो हमेशा बहुचन क्रिया का इस्तेमाल किया।


I have a lot of books.
I am in the bedroom.
You (singular) are in kitchen.
You (plural) both are in kitchen.
I read books.
You read books.
I have sharp memory.
You have sharp memory.
You all have good knowledge.

Rule 3 :

अगर दो संज्ञाओं को either...or / neither...nor, not only...but also, none इन conjuctions से जोड़ा गया हो तो singular verb का प्रयोग करते है। 


Either me or he is going for picnic.
Either Suraj or Dheeraj will be happy.
Neither Karan nor Kirti will call me.
Neither mother nor father is allowing me.

Rule 4 : 

None, Noone, anyone, everyone, each, every  इन सब कर्ताओं के साथ singular verb ही आते है। 


None of these books is intersting.
Anyone of you has a laptop.
Everyone in this room is sharp.

Rule 5 :

कुछ संज्ञाएँ अनेकवचन में होती है लेकिन उनके साथ एकवचन क्रिया का प्रयोग किया जाता है। 


Politics is my favourite field.
Mathematics was my favourite subject.
United States is a developed country.
Rickets is a disease of bones.

Rule 6  :

Collective Noun के साथ हमेशा singular verb का प्रयोग किया जाता है। 


The gang of thieves was caught.
This is the pile of books.
An army of soldiers was ready to attack.
A crowd of people is eager to know.

 Rule  7 :

कुछ नाम ऐसे होते है जो singular लगते है लेकिन उनके लिए plural verb का प्रयोग किया जाता है। 


Cattle are busy in grazing.
Police have done their duty.
